Rail Factory d.o.o. is a company operating in a specific industry. Repair and maintenance of railway vehicles and wagons is carried out in a market that is connected to several key customers, and competition takes place between the existing state-owned workshop. In Western European countries, there is a market where is a large number of private operators and large concerns that combine transport and logistics services.

The company performs a repair and maintenance services for railway wagons and vehicles. We cooperate with numerous domestic and foreign partners. We take care of our employees, constantly evolve and explore new business opportunities.

We specialize in the repair of freight wagons, tank wagons and the reconstruction of special wagons. Development is focused on construction and production of new, special wagons.

The market of our business is large, and the basic characteristics of the market are determined by the activity, the production of rail vehicles. Users of services are owners, lessees or manufacturers of wagons.

In the past period, we made a very clear plan for adapting to the situation on the market and focused our activities on several business lines: increased sales activities, especially in export, invested in the development of new products and technology, strengthened marketing, motivated people through education, quality selection and appropriate salaries. All this will ensure a positive business for us.

ORGANIZATION

Rail Factory L.t.d. is organized through management and 4 departments: production, procurement, quality management department and general department. Accounting services will be subcontracted to an external company as a service.

Departments can be divided into two types: basic and supportive. The basic departments are those that are directly related to the performance of the company's core, and supporting are those that help to implement the company's activities as well as possible. The basic departments are production and procurement and the supporting departments are general department and the quality control department.

Procurement is the department in which the process of providing services begins. Procurement department is responsible for the timely procurement of all tools, resources and materials needed to perform the activity. The procurement department consists of two workers, and the manager has a university degree. Procurement department plans activities according to the production plans for the needs of raw materials and spare parts. For purchases, at least three offers are requested from different suppliers and the most favorable one is chosen. The warehouse is managed with the help of an information system that networks the entire company. At any time, the responsible people from each department can check the stock status for each item in the warehouse. The procurement deparment works closely with production department for possible changes in the production plan or for ad hoc repairs and / or procurement.

Production is the largest and basic department in the company, with the aim of increasing the number of employees in accordance with the needs of production. The production process depends on the type of service and the partner for whom the wagon is being repaired. For production process, there is a production flow diagram to workers know what steps they have to take in each type of production. The production manager monitors the annual production plan, which may be modified during the year, however,  the manager and workers have many years of experience and can respond in a timely manner to changes in demand for services by customers.

The technical service is the support to production, it prepares technical documentation that accompanies production. Technical documentation consists of drawings, schemes, technological lists etc.

The General Department deals with human resources and legal affairs. They keep records for employees, follow legal regulations, analyze and plan jobs, select employees, introduce them to work, educate, reward, motivate, evaluate and inform them.

The quality management department supervises all processes in the company. The approach to quality system management is based on the PDCA loop (Plan - Do - Check - Act). Each process in the organization must have an accompanying document that can check the quality of the work performed and ensure traceability. The principles of the quality management system are customer focus, leadership, teamwork, process approach, systematic approach to management, continuous improvement, decision-making based on facts and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers.

Bookkeeping and accounting are managed by an external agency and work on all necessary financial reports that the company is obliged to publish and submit in accordance with legal regulations. At least once a year, the owner performs internal control and audit so that the company always has proper financial and accounting documentation.

 

 

HUMAN RECOURCES

The Management Board, is co-responsible for human resources management activities: job analysis, job planning, recruiting quality employees, employee selection, induction, employee development, employee education plan, rewarding and motivating employees, performance appraisal and information.

Job analysis is conducted once a year. If the needs for employees are different than the actual situation, then the possibilities of moving existing employees according to the needs are considered first.

The education plan consists of internal and external education. The types of education that the company encourages and for which it creates conditions, are stated in the ordinance for education. These are professional presentations, visits to professional fairs and gatherings, independent processing of professional materials, subscription to professional journals, monitoring of legal regulations, monitoring of professional literature, participation in seminars and courses, foreign language schools, part-time education, all types of internal education and requirements buyer.

The company has a developed system of responsibility for determining the competence of people in positions of responsibility.

The existing information system greatly facilitates records of human resources development, salaries, costs related to the development and use of human resources, education and training.

CERTIFICATE

The goal of the company is to carry out business activities in accordance with the certificates we have and with which we will prove that our system functions successfully and with quality.

ISO 9001: 2015 certified quality management system, globally accepted to demonstrate the ability to meet quality requirements and improve customer satisfaction in a customer-supplier relationship.

The ISO 14001: 2015 certificate of the environmental management system contributes to the expansion of the company's business to areas that are not only related to the customer and the suitability of the product / service, but also to environmental impacts, pollution, waste and energy consumption

 

The DIN EN ISO 3834 -2 certificate proves that the company is authorized for welding work in the production of new vehicles or repair and maintenance of existing vehicles.

The company also has an international certificate for a welding engineer, a certificate for certified welders and inspectors for ultrasonic testing of welds, and numerous authorizations for putting into circulation all the wagons we repair.

We have implemented a risk management system.

Regarding the railway industry, it is very important for us to present to our partners how our system for repairing wagons and vehicles works in accordance with the authorizations we possess:

  • Certificate of conformity for the function of carrying out maintenance of ECM railway vehicles, in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/798 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779.
  • Authorization for the maintenance function of railway vehicles according to the VPI European Maintenance Guide (VPI-EMG).
